[Tutorial] How to Decode MHM Files [EASY TUTORIAL]

Hi!

I saw some people in this thread still be confused on how to use the code/aren't understanding the tutorial so I'm making an easier tutorial to help out anyone who's confused


[THIS IS FOR WINDOWS ONLY + I USE POWERSHELL, NOT COMMAND PROMPT + YOU CAN DECODE ANY 360 FILE WITH THIS {ex: m4a}]


Step 1: Create folder in Desktop (name it whatever or put it wherever you prefer, it won't affect anything)

Step 2: Download the .exe file from here

Step 3: Copy the .exe file into the new folder in Desktop

Step 4: Copy the .mhm file(s) into the folder (you can add as many as you want, it won't affect anything)

Step 5: Go to Desktop, 'Shift + Right Click' on the folder. Select 'Open PowerShell Window here'

Step 6: Paste this Command:


ia_mpeghd_testbench.exe -ifile:"FILENAME.mhm" -ofile:track1.wav


[DON'T FORGET TO REPLACE 'FILENAME' WITH THE NAME OF YOUR MHM FILE]


If it shows an error, use this command:

.\ia_mpeghd_testbench.exe -ifile:"FILENAME.mhm" -ofile:track1.wav


Step 7: Hit 'Enter' and it should decode it!

edit: so I've been ripping m4a tracks from Tidal (MPEG-H 3D MHA1) with no issue, but when I run them through the decoder and enter them into Audacity, they're coming out as 12-channel files with very little separation (at least when compared to the other decoded WAVs I've gotten from this forum). to my understanding I'm pulling the correct files from Tidal (labeled as 360), using the correct links, etc. am I doing something wrong, or am I misunderstanding something along the way?

hii, i’m currently trying to decode but when i press enter, my cmd just gets stuck on saying “ittiam systems” blah blah blah and makes a blank output file, how can i fix it to actually decode the file

hey! i managed to decode the files just fine using that tutorial, but i still can't play the .wav files on any player. i usually use Poweramp on my phone and PotPlayer on my PC. Poweramp doesn't play them, but PotPlayer works just fine. what do i need to do to get the audio to play on my phone? thanks!

 

hii, i got everything installed and the path correct but no matter if i use the full path of the file or just the name and what directory im in i just get the error

fatal error: ia_test bench Memory & File Manager: Input File: File open Failed
