"The Power of Love" is a song co-written and originally recorded by American singer Jennifer Rush in 1984. It has since been covered by Air Supply, Laura Branigan and Celine Dion. Dion's cover version peaked at number one in the United States, Canada and Australia in 1994. The song has been translated into several languages, becoming a pop standard.

Jennifer Rush wrote the lyric about her boyfriend, the Harvard graduate Steven Engebretson. She said he was just her second boyfriend; the couple was still together long after the song was released. The song was seemingly made for Celine Dion, who says she "got goosebumps" when she first heard it. Released as the first single from her 1993 album The Colour of My Love, it went to #1 in America in February 1994, where it stayed for four weeks.
