I notice that lossless apple rips of albums aren't very common, and I was curious as to why? Does Apple have a really good security or are they good at taking down programs that rip music?

reverse engineering FairPlay for Dolby is like trying to enter into CIA's database, I have the chance to work with some guys on Apple DRMs (Widevine for Android ALAC), but its hard as hell

But is FairPlay for normal lossless (since Dolby isn’t clearly lossless) easier?

FairPlay decoding for Dolby (even ALAC for Apple devices) is directly in the macOS/iOS kernel sooooo, personally this is something that goes beyond my knowledge

Unless they're putting Apple Lossless in E-AC3 on the web player, then there is a possible chance, scene groups can grab those since it's using Widevine encryption. But I'm pretty sure Apple is smart enough not to do that.
