On the week ending October 12th, 1991, Mariah's lead single from her follow up album Emotions went to #1 on the Hot 100 (3 weeks). It also went to #1 on the R&B Singles Chart. "Emotions" became Carey's fifth single to reach number one in 15 months, and also gave her the distinction of being the first (and only, I believe) act to have their first five singles reach number one on the chart.

In celebration of that feat, here is the 1 track Promo CD.

Ripped from personal collection, if there are issues with the rip, do let me know. Thank you.

Tracklist :

1 Emotions (LP Version) 4:08

Thank you! I already have this track, but I'm still commenting to try to help keep the post active.

Also, in reference to your discussion about #1 records, I have some trivia for you (or anyone else interested who's reading): Christian girl group Point Of Grace had all six of their singles from their debut self-titled album in 1993-1994 go to #1 on Christian charts, and the group went on to have 24 (or 25) consecutive #1s, a streak unbroken until 2004 or 2005, I think. Their aptly-titled greatest hits album from 2003, 24, collects all those #1s plus a bonus track. I don't know if acts in other genres ever surpassed them in #1 records, but I'd be curious to know.

In more mainstream records, Mariah had 4 songs from her debut album go to #1 on the USA Billboard Hot 100, putting her in good company with Whitney Houston, George Michael, Paula Abdul, Janet Jackson, Usher, and the Saturday Night Fever album, all of which had 4 #1s from a respective album (though not always a debut). Michael Jackson and Katy Perry managed to score 5 #1s from "Bad" and "Teenage Dream" respectively. These are stats found on Wikipedia's article about the Billboard Hot 100 chart achievements and milestones.
