Madonna - Danceteria (Promotional Single)

Madonna - Danceteria (Promotional Single)

“Danceteria” was the name of a New York nightclub from the early 1980’s. It was the place where the career of the Queen of Pop began. Madonna told Bilt that the song is about how she was discovered in that club by DJ Mark Kamins and got her first record deal.

Artists arrive every day to New York, with a dream and more often than not with little else. As much as I struggled when I showed up here with nothing, I look back very fondly on this time in my life.

It was in the Danceteria that Madonna performed for the first time her very first single, “Everybody”, for 300 people in December 16, 1982.

It took a while, and I almost gave up. I guess there isn't a full video after all, or they consider the film version to be the official Danceteria music video. The next single is "Love Sensation" featuring Kylie.
