This can no longer be called AI upscaling, but rather the restoration of old video to near-perfect 4K. Previously, such quality could only be achieved from analog film sources using digital conversion. Now, AI upscaling has reached the same level: SD masters can bring old digital sources to near-perfect 1080p and even 4K quality. Overall, the quality of AI Upscale was a pleasant surprise.
