I have been thrown off many times by files stored in the Trash Bin. We should unlock them if the owner or someone else is willing to reupload. I hate to complain but I’d personally rather see the threads deleted but I don’t think it’s gonna happen. I have many threads I still need deleted too. This is all love, owners. I promise.
I think there are tons of things that need fixing here. Huge amount of links that have been dead for years. The lack of a simple "delete the thread" option - why can't a topic starter do it? File hosting mess - I won't even get started with it. Lots of things to improve to say the least.
The file hosting is a big problem but I don’t blame the owners for that. I have been told the lack of delete is for certain reasons that don’t make sense to me if they can’t be reposted if no one is willing to share. Also, a lot of things don’t need to be reposted. They get posted for stuff and then later they’re included in albums so no need to keep the thread unless it’s different mixes.
neither do I. I don't blame anyone at all. But the way things are right now - the very existence of this site is very questionable. And I'm afraid that to make everything right one will have to start from scratch. that is because there is absolutely no good (or even bad) reason for this rule - at least I can't think of any. Unfortunately, all of this is nothing but talk, and as they say - talk is cheap. If anyone has open enough mind for actual suggestions and is ready for real action - please write me a message.
Hello everyone, I'm aware of these peculiar issues, the reason to move threads with dead links to the trash bin is to not only keep track of each thread contents ever created, but to also not significantly affect SEO by constantly mass deleting links. I can't also avoid this section from appearing on the site's search, since there no option to do so on this version of Xenforo. A new version of Sharemania is in the workings, and it already has been decided that we're going to be upgrading and migrating to Xenforo 2.0 Big custom modifications are set to be arranged and developed, things like custom fields for adding, tracking and organizing filehost links and APIs for content's info (artists, movies,...). Right now is just not worth to be investing development in this already discontinued older version of Xenforo, since the 2.0 is also a completely new and better platform from the ground up. I'm just trying to make more free time to start making the mods on the new version.
Okay, well, can we just lock the threads for now? No point in letting people reply if it’s in the trash.
I only have an option to disable messages which in turn also disables people from editing their own threads in that section, people were complaining about this back then that's why I enabled it again Locking all threads in the section also disables people from editing their threads
