(no release group, this is my personal collection release, so I'm adding "Oct2021" as the release name)

Two requests:
=> AI-upscale to 1080p: I've seen incredible work from forum members here. Some upscales look like native 1080p x264 releases. Would any skilled person be so kind upscaling this show? It's ultra rare and will never be released in proper quality.
That would make my day!

=> Rip subtitles into .SRT: FS 01-04 and 06-12 contain subtitles. Anyone able to rip these into .SRT files? Only program I was able to display these with was VLC, so I wasn't able to run OCR. Maybe there are TV-stream optimized VOB editing tools out there.

Previously unreleased:
FS (Fullscreen) Episodes EOO-E04 and E06-E12 are direct recordings from US cable TV (NBC). They even have subtitles included (except the promo spot) when watched with VLC media player. I was sitting on these direct-from-cable recordings for 18 years, hoping to find a proper DVD, Blu-Ray or WEB-DL release, but since this is likely never to happen I'm releasing them now, as they are the best possible sources available. Some of them were missing a few seconds in the beginning which I have patched with other (lower quality) available versions of these episodes. Only the patch was re-encoded and then joined with the untouched cable TV recorded files.

The remaining FS episodes (and the 5 Widescreen ones) are the original releases that were shared back in the day as AVI files. I have not reencoded them, just wrapped them into an MKV container.

There are rumors that an 18th episode "All in the Family" had been created. An official source from 2003 confirms that only 17 had been greenlit though. (Check the "NBC adds to 'Match' order" (Variety) link on the Miss Match wikipedia page).

Enjoy the complete season of Miss Match in the best available quality to date (hopefully at some stage to be upgraded via upscale).

Huge thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to help with any of the two requests. I can provide the "patches" separately from the TV stream parts separately in case this makes the upscaling process easier (the TV stream parts have a small black bar at the bottom and on both sides, while the patches don't need to be cropped).

Subtitle Edit should be able to do the OCR and conversion to SRT if needed, though you might need to use CCExtractor first if they're still embedded in the video stream itself.

Topaz Video Enhance AI for proper upsampling isn't too hard to use, but is insanely time consuming with a modern GPU and can take a full day (or more) to process even a single half-hour episode.

Edit, just checked the pilot and it didn't contain any subs that I could find (even tried VLC as you mentioned). Maybe some episodes have them and some don't?

Amazing!: ccextractor worked like a charme! (after muxing it into a .TS container as it cannot detect "EIA-608" subtitles in .MKV containers). Delivered the final .SRT within seconds. Native text export, no OCR messing.

Very welcome, I'm glad that worked! And yeah, my GPU is too old to work with Topaz as well, other than making 1 or 2 minute long samples for lulz. Something like that probably requires the person to both have some decent hardware and a great appreciation for the movie/series they're working on. Best of luck, though!

bought a bootleg DVD of these episodes on eBay in 2005.
hope these are better quailty.
AI upscales can be good - depends on getting the right filters for the source & picture content.
