By the way you can open .tar with WinRAR

 

I know that you are supposed to be able to open .tar files with WinRar. I have tried that one. As well as WinZip and 7zip (The newest version). The file unzips, but there are no files in the folder when completed. So I just don't bother anymore with .tar files.

 

I tried opening the with 7zip and did not work with me as well
but when i open the file with WinRAR it work for me.

I had no success with any unzipper for .tar files. However, I did find an online file converter, and was able to convert the .tar file to a zip file. I was able to unzip it successfully after the conversion.
