Allow me to better explain the TS vs MP4 TS - this is a DVD video stream for dvds This is an MPEG 2 -1 file format. They do not allow nor hold subtitles nor images within the container. No menu, no chapters MP4 - This is an MPEG 4 -14 and can contain subtitles and images. Also they have indexing in the beginning of the file. Allows for menu, chapters, and was and is a big part of Apple supported by Quicktime Media player. TS is really popular among Sony camcorders for a good period of time. The VIDEO quality is the same among MP4, TS, and M2TS. Even though both are the same in video quality how its transcoded may affect your playback experience. Both are supported by Plex, and VLC. Cannot say for certain if TS is supported on Apple devices or Quicktime. Haven't tested it myself. This information provided above is without explaining the ISO differentials and getting to technical.
