Sounds interesting - thanks. Just a warning though - I'd suggest checking options or preferences to see if there is an update feature, then untick anything that enables automatic updates. I would also caution against manually updating this. Typically this process 'phones home' (like E.T) & enables the manufacturer to identify that you are using an illegal (pirated) copy. Many softwares will silently phone home during normal use as well (ie. not just when updating), so you might want to have a good firewall in place to block any outgoing messages from this program.
The open source mpv is my favourite player. syncing to monitor refresh rate is the best. it can sharpen videos (if you want), use good quality rescaling, has flexible options like customizable keybindings and interface, can work with youtube-dl for streaming
