Cloud.mail.ru has changed their TOS in June 8, 2018

Most significantly they introduced this new rule (translated):

    https://cloud.mail.ru/LA/

6.4.9. implement automatic blocking and cleaning of the Personal disk space from any information (files, folders, etc.) if the Licensee does not use it continuously for 9 (nine) months. Locking entails a reduction in the amount of personal disk space to 8 GB Blocking and cleaning are applied to Licensees who use Personal Disk Space at no cost or after the period in which the Additional functionality of the Service was provided in accordance with the selected tariff.

This is why many Cloud.mail.ru links are becoming offline.

If a determined number of files isn't acessed publicly and the owner has not logged in a period of 9 months the account gets frozen.

The files still remain there, but to unfroze the account you need to verify a phone number, and each number can only be used a couple times.

When the account is unfrozen, all the links become online again.

I don't know for how long these files will be kept if the account becomes frozen for too long.

I recommend anyone who has used Cloud.mail.ru, to mirror these file in any other filehost from the allowed ones (Google Drive, MEGA, Yandex.Disk,...).

Cloud.mail.ru seems no longer to be a safe choice for our needs... I no longer recommend it.

Google Drive seems to be the absolute safest choice, with no speed limits or whatsoever. Even when files are reported by copyright, they don't delete the files, they just disallow that specific sharing link, you can still download and reupload again.

They're not actually requiring mobile verification.

It's annoying as I must have 4 or 5 TB on there, it will take months to re-upload the videos that I still have.
I'll try Google Drive but it always seems to want a mobile phone number.

I was exploring this situation and the only way to access the files of these accounts is to install cloud.mail.ru's app

    Click "I don't have a phone number"

    And download their application

Just one more tip, it's possible to directly remote upload to other fileshosts using this cloud application just by drag and drop, which makes everything much easier
